G-Rex Gas Permeable Cell Culture Device

G-Rex  The Most Efficient Gas Permeable Cell Cuture Device on the Market

Wilson Wolf has invented a unique family of Gas Permeable Cell Culture Devices, called G-Rex, that are superior to any other gas permeable or traditional cell culture devices on the market.  The G-Rex advantage is obtained by a geometric design that allows cells to reside upon a gas permeable membrane and allows medium to reside at a height beyond that of any commercially available device. Cells experience virtually unlimited access to oxygen and nutrients. This patent pending approach results in the most space efficient and labor efficient cultureware on the market.

Cells have virtually unlimited access to oxygen on demand. By allowing the cells to gravitate to the gas permeable membrane, they are in an undisturbed state and in optimal proximity of ambient incubator gas.  As cells consume oxygen, a concentration gradient forms across the membrane, and oxygen from the ambient gas of the incubator automatically moves through the gas permeable membrane of the G-Rex to replace the oxygen consumed by the cells.

Cells have virtually unlimited access to nutrients within the medium on demand. By structuring the walls of the device to hold medium at a greater height than any other gas permeable cell culture device (such as bags), the G-Rex holds a vastly increased source of nutrients that move freely to the cells by natural convention. No pumps, mixing equipment, or shaker tables are needed to force nutients to be in proximity of cells. The nutrients are readily available to cells without need for any level of complexity beyond just placing the G-Rex in a standard incubator.

The net result is the most efficient and simple culture process possible. The automatic delivery of oxygen and nutrients at the rate cells demand them allows excellent growth conditions for cells. The high medium height makes a large source of medium available to the cells, minimizing feeding frequency. No need for ancillary equipment to force nutrients of the medium to the cells further simplifies and cost reduces the process. Furthermore, lack of forced mixing make G-Rex perfect for applications such as Adoptive Cell Therapy that require co-culture. In brief, G-Rex provides the largest quantity of cells in the smallest amount of space and it's easier to use than a traditional flask!  Simply place it in an incubator and walk away.

Please review our literature section. In particular, we suggest a review of information related to T cell culture to get a better feel for what the G-Rex technology can do to simplify the culture process.

Simple and Powerful - No other commercially available cultureware can provide the benefits that the G-Rex Devices can.
